What is a reCAPTCHA assessment?
Definition
In Google's reCAPTCHA, an assessment is the backend call that evaluates a token, created with the CreateAssessment method. It is also the unit that Google counts for billing.
How it works
- The page gets a token from reCAPTCHA.
- Your backend calls CreateAssessment with the token.
- Google returns the result, and the call counts as one assessment.
Where it matters
- Google's docs say the free tier covers 10,000 assessments a month per organization, with higher volumes billed.
- Count assessments from your own server logs to predict cost.
In CaptchaKit
CaptchaKit does not bill per verification. Packs are one-time payments. The verify endpoint is rate limited, not metered.
